What makes Sicily a special wedding destination? -It could take pages and pages of words, hundreds of photos and many stories, just to start. Sicily is magical and seductive. It is where Dolce&Gabbana shot most of their campaigns, and it still remains the most sentimental place for the world famous fashion designers. Recently, it also became one of the most coveted weddings, elopements and honeymoons destination. No wonder – Sicily has Taormina, Palermo, Syracuse, Aeolian Islands… wonderful beaches, cliffs, picturesque chapels and charming castles, often converted into luxury hotels and wedding venues. A wedding in Sicily is a fascinating mix of cultures thanks to its history, ruled by Europeans, Africans and Asians in the past. The signs of all who have passed through Sicily can be witnessed and felt through the incredible architecture that surrounds you. Norman, Arabic, Greek, Roman influences can be felt throughout the island, unparelleled anywhere in the world, with its extraordinary landscapes make the most incredible setting for a wedding in Italy. Thanks to its great climate, during Spring and into Autumn, the weather is always delightful and in the Summer time, gentle sea breezes along the coast, make even the hottest season a comfortable temperature, Sicily weddings can be enjoyed throughout the seasons. If colour, exotic design, wonderful cuisine and culture are what you are craving, a destination wedding in Sicily will tick all the right boxes!

Wedding in Padrino Style

Sicily is also the film location where Francis Ford Coppola directed The Godfather II, one of the greatest movies ever made, and it is still a wedding inspiration. The perfect backdrop for your wedding movie.
Ghida and Melhem a couple from Lebanon we show you in the following photos, taken by one of our best photographers in Sicily, Marco Ficili, have chosen the antique Castle of the Slaves not very far from the beautiful town of Taormina as the perfect set to celebrate their wedding. Avid The Goodfather movie lovers, they’ve chosen this location where the film was shot outside and inside the Castle.

Ghida and Melhem showed up in a cool old vintage car of the ‘30s! They looked stunning: he wore an original and elegant vintage suit with the typical Sicilian coppola and she was so chic with her wedding gown in traditional Sicilian lace with a very glamour touch.

The reception has been planned in every single aspect and detail: the tables decorations show an imperial “mise en place” full of colours and with such a glamorous country-chic touch, that matched perfectly with the place. And what to say about the floral installation on the antique well? So perfect!
