An Authentically Tuscan Summer Wedding Full of Love and… Straw Hats

Set on a hilltop in Maremma a beautiful and wild area in Tuscany, this beautiful Italian wedding was full of love and joy! A perfect location for an intimate destination wedding, with hundreds of acres of vineyards next door. Petit Bouquet Wedding planned and created a celebration of Tuscan beauty infused with the vibrant hues of Tuscan colors against a purple color palette. From the ceremony overlooking the hills to the open-air reception, there are stylish details and a whole lot of love at every turn.

When Shannon and Jonathan contacted Valentina of Petit Bouquet Weddings they were asking her for a beautiful Italian experience for both of them and their guests. What struck her was the response to her question if they had ever been in Tuscany, Shannon replied that they had never been in Italy. Valentina immediately started thinking that for them she had to recreate a unique and unforgettable experience even more. Their idea behind the wedding day was to have a location that had very specific characteristics: a venue for the exclusive use of the guests (16 guests with the bride and groom) with a swimming pool and a breathtaking view. Thus she discovered a jewel hidden in Maremma, in tune with bride and groom’s level of expectations.

A theme that the bride always asked for, was that of having the purple color as a constant. Lavender purple in particular. A purple that meant a lot to them, a thread of life and togetherness. Petit Bouquet Weddings developed this theme bringing it back to the local context, trying not to change the original beauty of Tuscan flowers and herbs, but welcoming everything as a huge hug.

Shannon and Jonathan’s dream of a romantic Tuscan wedding was brought to life in ways that have exceeded their and their guests’ expectations. With its stunning panoramic views over the pretty valley, the enchanting stand-alone venue in Maremma was the perfect setting for their romantic wedding day. For the ceremony the lovely American couple decided to a typical Italian design – with a rustic and simple setup in the lawn of the venue with a dreamy view into the surrounding hills..

At the end of July, it is known that the sun is very hot and Valentina had a fun idea creating a detail that the couple welcomed with happiness: the arch of Tuscan straw hats to cover themselves from the sun.

In terms of decor and layout Tuscan elements have been incorporated like hand painted place cards representing the iconic places of Tuscany mixed with a touch of sophisticated grace choosing pastel color flowers and a lot of greenery with purple elements like the tall candles placed in elegant cylinder glass.

Valentina concludes that she had to tell their story, the story of two beautiful souls who gave each other a dream by getting married in Tuscany and creating a travel, cultural and emotional experience for all their guests. And we at IWG think she has succeeded admirably.

Our congratulations to Shannon and Jonathan on their one-year anniversary!
